FISHING REPORTS:

Lake Gogebic fishing has been very good for a mid summer report. Anglers are catching a variety of species. Most are working the weeds in 8 to 12ft. of water using crawlers and leeches catching bass, perch, walleye and northern with some panfish mixed in. Trollers are having great success running boards with stick baits for the suspended walleyes and using bottom bouncers with crawlers over the mud 22 to 26ft of water. Best of luck! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report has been up and down with lots of weather changes but has begun to level out with more stable conditions. Crawlers and leeches are now the go to baits with weed beds up and anglers targeting the weeds and weed edges for most all species. Perch action is on the upswing in those areas from 8 ft. to 12ft. depths. Smallmouth have been active in the weeds and also rocky areas. Walleye are hitting in the weeds and out in the mud 18ft. to 22ft. with the best reports. Best of luck! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic has once again provided a great opener with both weather and success. Water levels are high and water temps cold keeping those Walleyes active. Anglers are working jig and minnow combos near hard bottom both stationary and drifting in 8 to 16ft. of water providing the best reports. Trolling has also been very successful in the same depths. Best of luck! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report has been both hot and cold for some anglers. Walleye season is coming to a close on March 15th but the last few days have been great for some with reports of great action on tip ups fished from 28ft. all the way to 8ft. using sucker minnows. Perch action continues both good and bad for some. With depths around that 26 foot mark giving the best reports using wigglers. We have seen some great catches come in while others never seen a fish so stay on the move for those active schools. Lake conditions are winter like with fresh snowfall. Snowmobiles travel has been good and are recommended. Snowmobile trails are in excellent shape. Best of luck! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort.906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic travel conditions have been good for snowmobiles. Fishing report has been slow with anglers still working the mud flats for walleye and perch. They have been picking up a few walleye using both sucker minnows and jigging spoons or rapalas. The perch have been slow to bite with anglers reporting raising fish but not connecting. Best of luck Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic ice conditions and travel have steadily improved. Walleye and perch action has been good. Anglers are targeting the same depths of 22 ft. to 26 ft. with the best success over mud. Walleye are hitting both sucker minnows on tip ups or jigging baits tipped with a fathead with the best action early morning or evening. Perch continue to prefer wigglers fished tight to the bottom. Best of luck Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

ake Gogebic anglers can expect 8 to 12 inches of ice with more in the bays. Very heavy snowfalls with a lot of drifting followed by mild temps has caused slush on many parts of the lake. For sure expect slush below the snow cover. Surface travel with snowmobiles has been pretty good. Perch and walleye action has been fair with best reports coming from 22ft. to 26ft. depths over soft bottom mud areas. Walleye have been taking both sucker minnows and jigging baits tipped with a minnow. Perch are hitting wigglers and spikes fished tight to the bottom in the same areas. Best of luck and be safe. Lake Gogebic boater activity has been light, but shore anglers have been active with great reports on walleyes using sucker minnows in the evening and night time. Grouse hunters are happy reporting fantastic numbers of birds along with good numbers of woodcock as well. Fall colors are past peak with most of the leaves down now. Best of luck in the woods and on the water! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report was a bit slower this week but still fair with mixed reports. Walleye anglers are still working the weeds and shorelines with sucker minnows and stick baits. Some of the better reports are from shore anglers using minnows during low light conditions. Others have had mixed catches of walleye, bass and northern with some nice perch still hitting crawlers. Grouse hunters are starting to move into the area with fair sightings, but still have a lot of leaves on yet. Fall colors have peaked with lots of people just enjoying a fall color tour. Best of luck. Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic fall reports are good. Cool temps have improved fishing action. Walleye action has improved with anglers still working the weeds with night crawlers and minnows along with hard bottom breaks. Northern Pike action has picked up also using sucker minnows along weed edges. Smallmouth are very active along steep hard bottom breaks and some in the weeds as well using sucker minnows. Grouse hunting has been fair, but lots of leaves on the trees yet with fall colors around 25%. Bear hunting is in the 3rd season now with good sightings at the baits. Archers are winding up for the deer opener on Oct. 1st. Best of luck in the woods and on the water! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report is fair. Walleye action has slowed some with anglers reporting catches in the weeds using live bait and some trolling with planer boards over the mud. We are seeing mixed bag catches of perch, bass, northern and panfish mostly coming from 8 to 12 ft. in the weeds using crawlers and leeches. Some nice crappie catches have come in suspending over open water using small plastics. Fall colors are beginning to show and opening of bear season has hunters dealing with wind and high temps. Grouse season is coming on quickly as well with a few reports of coveys being seen but way to many leaves on the trees yet to get many positive sightings. Best of luck to all in the woods and on the water. Barry(Bear) Drews at Bears Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic fishing has been stable with good catches of perch and walleye with some nice smallmouth mixed in. Most anglers are working the weeds with slip bobbers using crawlers and leeches. Some are also fishing 20ft. to 26ft using the same methods over the soft bottom areas. Reports of action also in hard bottom areas as fish are feeding on crayfish as well. Best of luck! Lake Gogebic fishing has been up and down almost daily with wide temperature swings, rain or wind changes so many are struggling. Walleye, Bass and northern have been in the mix with most catches. Anglers trolling tight to bottom with crawler harnesses or running boards with stick baits for the suspended fish have had the most consistent catches. Mayflies are hatching at this time as well. The good news is that the perch bite has finally picked up for the season. Best of luck and have a safe holiday. Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic fishing has been fair overall. We have had a lot of ups and downs with wide swings in weather from rain to wind and wide temperature swings causing the bite to be on and off. Minnows ,leeches and crawlers have all been working. Walleye, Northern and bass have all been active. Anglers have had success with a number of tactics drifting and jigging, trolling crawler harness`s and trolling planer boards with stick baits as well. Perch action has been slow so far this season but should pick up with warmer weather. Best of luck! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report remains good. Light angler pressure this past week after the opener, however walleye anglers still catching fish in 16 to 20 ft. using minnows and leeches. Warmer weather may improve that smallmouth activity for those excited for the bass opener this sat. May 28th looking to catch some of the monsters they caught earlier this season. Everyone was catching fish with the best reports coming from 16ft. to 22ft. depths. Anglers are using mainly jig and minnow combos with some great reports from anglers using leeches as well. With reports of large numbers of under size walleye anglers are very happy with many keepers from 18 to 22 inches being common. Smallmouth season is closed with catch and release only, however great reports of many massive fish being caught and providing extra action. Be safe and enjoy! Lake Gogebic is still in winter mode. Cold night temps has kept the snow firm on top in the mornings, but with any warm ups expect the snow to soften. Heavy snow and sleet in the past week means expect slush in most areas under the snow. Ice thickness remains the same, but use caution at this time of year as the conditions can change rapidly. Perch anglers are working the mud flats, but activity has been very light. Best of luck! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic anglers have been doing well. Perch continue to come from varied depths over the mud flats using wigglers. Target depths of 22ft. to 30ft. in the main lake . Walleye reports are good as well in the same depths either jigging or using tip ups with sucker minnows. Reminder gamefish season closes March 15th. Lake Gogebic report is on the upswing once again! Anglers continue to work the mud flats from 22ft. to 30ft. A wide range of depths but now reporting fair to good action. Walleye remains fair but perch have improved the best. Walleye anglers using tip ups with sucker minnows or jigging spoons and rapalas near bottom while perch anglers are getting the best response using wigglers. Travel conditions have changed with recent heavy snow and drifting with reports of slush under the snow in some areas. Snowmobile or tracked wheelers are a must. Best of luck! Lake Gogebic ice fishing season is off to a good start with ice and travel conditions in good shape. Both wheelers and snowmobiles are now traveling on the lake. Early ice led to some good reports on the walleyes in the bays. Currently anglers are still fishing the bays with many now venturing out to the deeper water in search of both walleye and perch. Jigging minnows or using suckers on tip ups for walleye and working wigglers and spikes for those jumbo perch. Not a lot of reports coming in yet as most are just hitting the ice after the holiday. Lake Gogebic report is very quiet as we are in between seasons. Angling pressure has been almost zero with only a few shore anglers picking up some walleye using sucker minnows. Bear season is over and most grouse hunters have vacated the woods as well. Light bow hunting pressure with reports of bucks starting to chase does. Most are looking forward to the up coming rifle season starting Nov. 15th. The first measurable snow today with 6 inches plus and still snowing! Best of luck in the woods and on the water. Lake Gogebic fishing pressure has been light with slow reports. Anglers continue to work the weeds at this time of year with mainly sucker minnows. Smallmouth have been the most active with some real monsters coming in. Some walleye and a few perch as well. Fall colors have peaked and most of the leaves have fallen making grouse hunters happy. Bird numbers have been good with woodcock migration a bit behind schedule due to mild fall temps. Bear hunting is winding down with mainly hound hunters being the most active this late in the season. Bow hunting for whitetail is also underway with light hunting pressure. Best of luck in the woods and on the water! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report is still slow with anglers reporting a tough bite. They are using a variety of baits including crawlers, leeches , minnows and artificial with limited success. Those working the weeds seem to have better reports, although those reports vary widely. We expect at this transition time for the minnow bite to pick up soon. Grouse numbers are looking good with hunting pressure still very light. Fall colors are coming quickly at about 80% nearing peak in some areas. Best of luck in the woods and on the water! Lake Gogebic continues to produce a mixed bag of fish for anglers working the weeds with crawlers and leeches. Everything from panfish to bass, walleye, perch and northern. Anglers trolling or vertical jigging over the mud flats are also picking up some walleye. The walleye bite has definitely improved with many anglers reporting better catches. With Bear hunting quickly approaching on Sept. 8th hunters are excited that the bears are hitting baits consistently. Grouse numbers are also looking positive with larger broods this year up to 4-6 birds in a covey. Fall colors are also beginning to emerge, but they are very dull at this time due to lack of rain but still an obvious change in the seasons right around the corner! Best of luck! Lake Gogebic fishing continues to be fantastic with lots of action. Smallmouth and perch have been active for weeks with the walleye tuning in recently as well. Anglers are doing best working the weeds from 9ft. to 11ft. using crawlers and leeches with great success. Others are fishing hard bottom areas in 12ft. to 18ft. picking up both walleye and smallmouth using the same methods. Trollers are reporting slower action from the mud flats. Best of luck! Lake Gogebic fishermen have been doing well on perch and smallmouth with walleye action a bit slow with most of them running small. Crawlers and leeches worked in 8ft. to 12ft. of water have been producing the best results. Lake Gogebic fishing has been more stable now with everyone catching some fish. Walleye anglers are boating fish trolling stick baits in 24ft. to 27ft. depths. Live bait fishermen are seeing action using mostly crawlers and leeches now as more of a summer time pattern emerges with weed beds starting to pop. Smallmouth action remains good near shore using both artificial and live bait. Very few perch have been caught so far this season, but should improve with the weed beds coming up. Best of luck! Lake Gogebic fishing has been fair despite drastic weather and temperature changes. Most all are catching fish but still running small. Best reports are coming from 21ft. to 25ft. depths with the evening bite still in 8ft. to 12 ft. Cold temps have retuned pushing the smallmouth back out, but warmer forecast for this weekend bass opener should provide some better action. Anglers continue to work jig and minnow combos along with crawlers and leeches to locate fish that seem to be in no distinct pattern with varied reports from all. A few reports of crappies coming from the bays this week as well. Best of luck and have a safe holiday. Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic opener has seen great weather but fishing has been tough. With 60`s on the weekend and 80 degrees today it has been almost to nice for the walleye bite. Anglers are picking up fish in a variety of methods. The standard jig and minnow drifting or casting a wide range of depths from 20ft. to 25ft. during the day with better reports coming from 6ft. to 10ft. during the evening and after dark. Lots of 11 inch eyes in the mix with the nicer fish running 15 to 18 inches. With the slow bite many are trying leeches and crawlers as well along with many just trolling to locate active fish. The early spring and warm temps has the smallmouth action hot! Remember Bass season is not open yet! Catch and release only. Best of luck! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic`s bitter cold weather has produced some excellent perch fishing. Anglers braving the harsh elements are working 20 to 28ft. with some of the best steady reports coming from 20 to 22ft. depths over the mud. They are working small jigs with wigglers and larger raps and spoons tipped with spikes. Perch anglers with the best reports are working 24ft. to 28ft. using wigglers over the mud. Walleye anglers are doing the best using tip ups and jigging from 18ft. to 24ft. with the best bite coming on in the evening. Lake Gogebic ice season is off to a good start. Walleye anglers have been working the bays for some time with main lake ice and travel now underway. The walleye bite has been very good with anglers working 8ft. to 14ft. mainly during low light or night time using sucker minnows on tip-ups or jigging Rapalas and spoons. Anglers are now working out 22ft. to 25ft. depths with good reports as well. The perch bite is just picking up as anglers begin to work those deeper depths with wigglers. Currently not much activity with the holiday but will ramp up starting today with more anglers out and about. Ice conditions were excellent before the last snow on Christmas, however it did start with rain so expect some wet conditions mostly near shore. Be cautious and safe. A few late season grouse hunters are still finding some birds. Deer activity has been up with light snow cover now and bucks chasing does. Most outdoorsmen are focusing on the upcoming rifle deer hunt beginning Nov. 15th. Early ice will be soon upon us, so those venturing out please use caution and check locally on conditions. Lake Gogebic fishing has been improving slowly. Most anglers are using crawlers and leeches yet, but the minnow bite is beginning to improve. Walleye anglers are still working the weeds 8ft. to 12ft. with live bait and stick baits. Jigging or slip bobbers in 26ft. to 30ft. depths have also produced. A few nice perch have come in also in the same areas. Smallies are holding near hard bottom areas with some fish also coming from the weeds. We have seen some very nice crappies hitting both live bait and plastics worked in 4ft. to 8ft. depths. Bear hunting gets underway this week on Sept. 9th with a favorable weather forecast and cool temps. Grouse season is soon approaching on Sept. 15th with bird numbers looking on the low side. Lake Gogebic report has been up and down recently. With both good and poor reports from day to day from mainly perch anglers. Working the mud using wigglers in 24ft. to 29ft. depths some have had fair success while others are marking fish but struggling to get a bite. Lake conditions have been fair overall, but changing daily with warm temps or rain causing the surface to be soft by the end of day, but with temps in the teens at night travel has been good in the morning most days. Lake Gogebic ice and travel conditions have been good mainly snowmobiles are recommended. The walleye bite continues to be slow with fish coming from 26ft. to 32ft. and evening has produced some fish in 10ft. to 14ft. using suckers on tip ups and jigging spoons and rapalas. Perch has improved some with 50% of reports catching fish now. Others are still reporting marking lots of fish rising for a look and dropping back down. Milder temps have improved the bite along with anglers enjoyment out on the ice. Reminder walleye season will come to a close on March 15th. Best of luck! Lake Gogebic ice report and travel conditions are good. Current night temps are dipping into the teens making travel in the mornings very good. If we begin to see warmer temps during the day conditions may get wet and slushy by late day as there is a lot of snow on the ice yet. Walleye season is now closed, but anglers continue to target the Perch working wigglers in 23ft. to 29ft. over the mud. Success continues to be fair overall with some slow reports and some good reports. We have seen some very nice jumbo`s on the ice but not consistent. As late ice conditions can change quickly please be safe and also check locally where you are heading out. Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report has improved slowly this week. The past few weeks anglers that did locate fish found it hard to get them to do anything but bump the bait. Early this week seen a few better reports coming in mainly for the perch everyone has been waiting for. Anglers working wigglers and spikes in 25ft. to 29ft. are seeing some better action, but it is spotty. Walleye continue to provide some action using sucker minnows and jigging baits working 16ft. to 20ft. and also in the same 25ft. to 29ft. that the perch anglers are working. Lake conditions are good using snowmobile. Recent heavy snow will cause some difficult travel in areas for those using ATV`s. Weather forecast shows highs in the 30`s with lows in the teens. Expect that conditions may be nice and firm in the mornings and soft to wet conditions by the afternoon. Best of luck to all! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report has improved some this past week. Walleye anglers are reporting better catches. The 10ft. to 16ft. depths during low light are producing on sucker minnows using tip ups. Others jigging rapalas and spoons. Some walleye action in 24ft. to 28ft. while anglers search for Perch. Perch action continues to be slow overall with only a few good reports using wigglers. Lake Gogebic report remains slow to fair at best. Walleye seem to be getting the best reports but still slow with a lot of bumps and misses. Perch action has been quiet as well with reports of raising fish but difficulty in getting them to bite. Walleye anglers are fishing 10ft. to 16ft. during low light conditions and working the deeper water in 23ft. to 30ft. using sucker minnows and jigging raps. Some have downsized the minnows to fatheads trying to prevent the numbers of fish dragging out 3 to 4ft. of line on the tip-ups and dropping the bait. Perch anglers working the mud in 20ft. to 24ft. and 27ft. to 30ft. marking fish but few takers. Wigglers and spikes have been the preferred bait. Mild temps had anglers reporting slush near the end of the day but conditions firmed up at night. More snow is on its way today and Tue. With cooler temps. Best of luck! Lake Gogebic report has not changed. Reports for both Perch and Walleye have been slow to fair. Most anglers reporting a very light bite or marking fish with no takers. They continue to work the mud in a wide range from 21ft. to 29ft. Lake and ice conditions have been good with travel by snowmobile the best. Good luck! Lake Gogebic report has been up and down this past week with an overall report of fair. When temps warmed up we had some good reports on walleye in 16ft. to 18ft. and also in 23ft. to 26ft. using suckers and fatheads. Perch report has been slow to fair with hit and miss catches. Anglers using wigglers and spikes have been marking fish in 23ft. to 25ft. with mostly lookers and a few nice perch coming in. Snow and cold has once again moved in with lake travel best by snowmobile. ATV travel will be limited to hard packed areas in some places, but not recommended. Overall ice conditions and travel are good. Good luck and stay warm! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report has been cold! Brrrrr! Bitter cold temps have not kept anglers off the ice. Overall the bite has been slow with anglers reporting lookers, not takers and light bites. Anglers have now been working the deep mud flats in the lake for perch and walleye using wigglers and sucker minnows. Others continue to work shallow depths mainly for walleye and northern with low light periods being best for the walleye. Lake travel has been good for ATV`s in most areas of the lake and snowmobiles having no problems at all. Expect some slush in pockets and bumpy travel in areas that machines passed over and slush froze up quickly with the cold temps. The weekend forecast shows some more tolerable temps. Best of luck! Welcome back Lake Gogebic ice and snow enthusiast`s! Ice fisherman have been fishing the bays now for about 3 weeks working 4ft. to 10ft. depths with fair reports using sucker minnows and jigging rapalas mainly for walleye. Snowmobile and ATV travel are good. About 6 to 10 inches of snow on the ice with some slushy areas that are getting better with the below zero temps. Main lake ice is running 6 to 8 inches thick. Please be careful and check locally before heading out!!! Best of luck! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report has been fair for shore anglers using sucker minnows for walleye. Activity has been very light as most are concentrating on deer hunting right now. Happy hunters are enjoying good snow cover across the Gogebic range and improved deer numbers over last year. Todays rifle opener is a bit milder with snow melting, but good cover still remains. Early ice may not be too far off if weather conditions return to winter like temps. Remember to be safe as early ice can be very unpredictable!!! Please check locally in areas you may be heading out. My regular reports will resume near the end of December when we should have safe ice travel throughout the lake. Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report is fair. Smallmouth are still active in hard bottom areas. Walleye have been hit and miss reports working the weeds and the deeper mud flats. Crawlers and leeches are still getting the best results. Warm temps way above average are still in the forecast for the upcoming week! We are into the second week of bear season with good reports despite the hot weather. Grouse season opened on the 15th with hunters and grouse both in low numbers. We have been seeing a few more young birds out there than we did last year so that is a good sign. Over all bird numbers seem low yet with only a few reports in certain areas that hunters have seen good numbers. Fall colors are coming in fast at about 25%. Lake Gogebic fishing remains fair to good. Last weeks heavy rain and wind, severe storms slowed the bite for a few days, but has now began to turn around. Caution of high water levels that may still have some debris floating in the lake, watch for logs boards ect… that may have floated loose from shore. Sat. May 27th. Marks the opener for smallmouth bass fishing, however not a lot of catch and release on bass yet this season being reported as water temps are still to cold for them to move in to spawn. Perch action has also been slow with most anglers concentrating on Walleye and Pike. Jig and a minnow has still been the most popular with good catches also coming in on leeches. Anglers are working 16ft. to 22ft. with some moving in to less than 10ft. during low light conditions. Have a happy and safe holiday weekend! Welcome back! Lake Gogebic fishing opener was a great one fishing wise! Weather was cold windy and rain! The rain continues to hang on but temps have warmed up. Fishing was fantastic with lots of Walleye between 15 inches to 18 inches not many that you had to measure. Drifting with a jig and minnow was very popular over the main lake with good reports coming from 15ft. to 18 ft. Low light conditions showed a good bite in shallow water and for shore anglers. Some great reports came in from anglers using leeches also. Good luck out there! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic ice conditions have deteriorated quickly. ATV travel was good in the mornings over the weekend but was poor by evening. Water began to pool on the surface which will honeycomb the ice quickly. Many shoreline areas are deteriorated as well. Light rain has also been a factor. Ice travel is NOT!! Recommended!!!! It was a great ice fishing season overall and we hope to see you all for the May 15th Walleye opener. Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report remains good. Perch action has been good using wigglers and spikes in 22ft. to 27ft. Ice conditions and travel are currently good using ATV`s or snowmobile. No snow on the ice. Always check locally before heading out as conditions can change very quickly at this time of year. Reports are of angler activity and not ice safety!!! Lake Gogebic walleye season ended yesterday March 15th with a fantastic finish!! Many happy anglers iced lots of nice fish! Perch action has also improved greatly! It`s Jumbo perch time! Anglers are working 22ft. to 30ft. with good action using Wigglers, spikes and small minnows. Ice conditions are great with ATV and snowmobile both being used. Ice depth has actually increased some this past week with below zero and single digit lows at night. Watch the weather but expect the conditions to last a while yet. Use caution near any inlets to the lake as earlier thaws have deteriorated ice near shore in these areas. As always late ice conditions can change quickly so always check locally in the areas you may be heading out. Be safe and good luck! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361

Lake Gogebic fishing report has not changed much. Anglers continue to work 20ft. to 30ft. depths for both perch and walleye. Sucker minnows on tip ups have been producing the best for walleye with a fair report. Wigglers and spikes have been best for perch with very slow reports. Some working 10ft. to 13ft. for walleyes have reported fair results during low light conditions. Ice conditions remain very good with average of 15 to 18 inches of ice. ATV travel is possible in some areas but not all over, snowmobile would be best. Reminder to use extreme caution near shore line areas as all of the creek, stream, and rivers have been flowing in for weeks. Stay away from those areas. Best of luck and be safe. Lake Gogebic fishing report has been very slow this week with only a few good reports. Main lake conditions are good with average of 20 inches of ice. The meltdown has allowed ATV travel once again on most areas of the lake. There are some locations that have deep slush on top yet. Use extreme caution near shore line areas that have creeks, rivers and streams flowing in as all of the runoff has created open water near these locations. Colder temps are forecast starting Thur. with snow coming Thrurs , Fri and Sat Best of Luck! and be safe. Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic fishing has improved to fair. Walleye and perch continue to be picked up in 24ft. to 30ft. Reports have not been the best but have improved over the ;last week. Ice is good, but snow melting now is causing slush on top. Mild temps are forecast for the next 5 days so expect conditions to get wet and sloppy. Best of luck! Lake Gogebic report has been slow. The great bite we had has come and gone. Most anglers reporting a tough bite with most fish marked are only lookers. A few fish are still coming in but they have been biting very light. Both perch and walleye action has still been best in 24ft. to 28ft. over the mud . low light anglers working 8ft. to 12ft. have also reported some action. Recent heavy snow has once again stopped any ATV travel so snowmobile is best. Good luck! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic fishing has been fantastic! Walleye action has been hot! Anglers working 22ft. to 26ft. having great success using sucker minnows and jigging rapalas or spoons. Perch action has been fair using wigglers and spikes in the same areas. Lake conditions are good with about 2 to 6 inches of slush in some areas. Travel has been good using snowmobiles and the mild temps have even made ATV travel good once again. Temps are forecast to cool down by Wed. and chance of snow every day after thru the weekend. Best of luck! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report has been great. Some good reports on walleye in 10ft. to 12ft. using sucker minnows. Others still working 20ft. to 26ft. depths for both perch and walleye with good success using suckers and jigging rapalas. Perch are hitting wigglers and spikes in the same depths.Weather has been fantastic for fishing with mild temps. Lake travel is still best with snowmobiles as slush will be a factor due to the mild weather predicted thru the weekend. Best of luck Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic report has remained about the same. Fair to good catches of both walleye and perch coming from 20ft. to 26ft. Cold below zero temps have returned this week once again. The bite seemed to hold out pretty well thru our last cold snap so hope it does once again! Heavy snow here the last three days will limit travel to snowmobiles only. Best of luck! Lake Gogebic conditions are good overall. With 10 inches plus of ice all over the lake. Anglers are using atv`s and snowmobiles. There are parts of the lake that have slush under the snow and atv travel will be difficult. Snowmobiles will be best. The bite has slowed up in the 10ft. areas with most action coming during low light conditions. Most anglers are moving deeper with good success in 20ft. to 24ft. using wigglers for perch and sucker minnows and rapalas for the walleye. A cold front with snow began moving in yesterday with a low of 10 below by tomorrow with anglers currently reporting a very tough bite. Marking fish but they are being very fickle. Best of luck! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic fishing has been great. A bit of a slow down when temps dipped into the teens after the 35 degree weather but expect it to respond back quickly with stable temps once again. Ice conditions vary with 8 to 12 inches in the bays and 6 to 10 inches on the main lake. Slush has mostly turned to ice with the colder temps so areas are icy. Some slushy areas have frozen over but you may break thru the top layer in some areas. Walleye bite has been fantastic in 7 to 11 feet using sucker minnows and jigging raps. Some perch have been picked up in the same areas in the bays with anglers beginning to fish the mud flats. Not a lot of perch reports yet in those areas. Anglers are using wigglers and spikes. Best of luck and have a happy new year! Barry (Bear) Drews at Bear`s Nine Pines Resort 906-842-3361.

Lake Gogebic fishing activity has been light but some good reports. Ice conditions have been fair with not a lot of snow on top yet. Ice reports are from 5 inches to 8 inches in most areas. We have not seen a lot of travel out there yet but expect that to change in a few days as holiday anglers and snowmobilers arrive in the area. Walleye reports have been in 4ft. to 10ft. and 14ft. to 18ft using sucker minnows and jigging rapalas. No reports on perch yet. Have a happy and safe holiday! Lake Gogebic Perch action has been fantastic! Jumbo`s by the bucket! Using crawlers in 7 to 9ft. and also deep mud 25 to 30ft. Walleye action has been good with still most action from undersize fish . Some nice sized eyes are being caught just not constant. Many are already using minnows with excellent luck! Smallmouth continue to produce as well near hard bottom areas. One cold front this week slowed things up for a bit , but more stable weather is forecast. Best of luck! Lake Gogebic report has improved. Nice Jumbo perch are hitting crawlers in 25ft. to 30ft. Also from the weeds in 8ft. to 9ft. Walleye action has been very good with the exception that many are under size. Have also seen some nice size Walleye as well but a bit more hit and miss. Some are using minnows in 25ft. to 30ft. Leeches are also working well in the same depths and working weed edges. Smallmouth have been active in hard bottom areas feeding on crayfish. Most all are catching fish! Best of luck! Lake Gogebic report has improved some. Perch,Walleye and bass are hitting leeches and crawlers in the weeds. Walleye are also hitting crawlers fished in 16 to 23ft. Warmer weather has returned with only one!!!! Heavy storm moving thru this week! Forecast for the rest of the week looks to be close to normal. Best of luck! Lake Gogebic smallmouth continue to be hitting the best in hard bottom and rocky areas using crawlers. Perch action continues to be slow. Walleye are hitting leeches in 18 to 23 ft. Over all fishing has been poor with each week the bite begins to improve for a few days and another front moves thru and shuts things off again. It appears more seasonal temps are in the forecast. Lake Gogebic fishing continues to be very slow. No stable weather has been part of the reason, as we see warm to cold with winds and rain ect… Smallmouth have been giving up most of the action with anglers fishing hard bottom rocky areas as they are feeding on crayfish. Perch anglers are pulling a few nice fish from 12 to 16ft. near the edges of the mud. Walleye are hitting leeches and crawlers fished near the weeds and in the mud but limited success. Good luck.
